Get Well Card for Presley

Meet my grand-daughter "Presley".  She is 27 months old now and such a blessing! When you meet Pres, the odds are,she will flash the biggest grin and give you the hug of your life.  Below is Presley
Presley had to go to the Hospital a few days ago and I wanted to make her a special card. Stamp is a LaLa Land stamp, which Bosskut will have available for sale soon. Doesn't the girl on the card look like Presley...well, in a little way? :)
Just in case you haven't heard or read, http://www.bosskut.com/ now offers stamps,SketchKuts and Copic markers for purchase.  New files to be released soon!

Cards Made and "Brother Layout."

What a busy month May has been!  At last today, I had time to color, cut and be creative...
I like to stamp my stamps using the Memento brand Tuxedo Black inkpad. There are a lot of tutorials online to learn the Copic techniques and many professionals offer classes.
Today while coloring, I thought about my brother Bobby and how we use to draw and color all the time. So, I quit coloring and decided to add another page to my Family album. I try to make at least one page a month of what I call the "Oldies" so hopefully this is will stay in our Family?

This is a Birthday Card I colored using a Digital Stamp.

This is a card made using a SaraKay Stamp.

Another SaraKay stamp. I made this for our Aunt Carol who bakes for us on a regular basis and will use this for a note card.

Thank you for looking at my Blog and have a safe "Memorial Day Weekend"!!

Petal Power Layout

Petal Power

It’s that time of year again to think “Flowers”.

The flower pattern is the newly released, Spider Daisy and Scroll and the item number: BKD007. To make the largest flower, I cut extra petals reducing each one in size.

Yummy Spring and Easter Projects

Debbie used our new Bunny design by Judy Stark cut two pieces. One for the front . Mirrored the other for the back. She glued a toothpick in between to stick in the cupcake.

His little pop kut bow is adds so much to him. Bunny #008.

Egg Shaped Easter Card

I thought it would be fun to create an egg shaped Easter card. I used the base egg shape from the Lattice Egg digital download and expanded it to approximately 4″ tall then cut it out. Using my scissors I simply hand cut the egg right across the center so it appeared to be “cracked”. Using a brad I pieced the egg back together so that it would close and the cracked edge would overlap slightly. I added some ribbon along the edge to decorate the outside. And here’s what it looks like opened…

For the inside, I cut and inked the Chick Peeker by Lisa Schmidt and tucked him in so that he appeared to be peeking out of the egg. I stamped the sentiment then hand cut it and glued it to a toothpick. The weight of the ribbon on the outside helps to keep the egg closed but if you’re concerned about the top falling or not staying put you can stick a little tiny glue dot or repositionable adhesive to keep it closed just right. This was a super easy little hinged card to create and will look so cute inside my kids baskets!! Think I’ll even make some for the teachers.
Thanks,
Katie

Spring Brings Birthdays

It seems like 75% of my family were born in March and April! (including myself)  My youngest grand daughter will be 2 years old tomorrow, "Happy Birthday Presley!" Below is a 1 cut cupcake card I  made for her.

Since I was feeling creative, I decided to make a card for her Mom also.  My daughter Kimberly has just started a business and the card co-ordinates with her interior design colors.  The flower is one I have named "Presley" as you cut it out and pinch instead of pop!

  Thank you for stopping by!

HOLIDAY JOURNAL

I made this as a wedding gift but you can also make this for the holidays.  To make the flower, you will need vellum paper, white marking pen (my favorite is Uniball Signo UM-153) and rhinestones.  The Motif used was designed by Karen Taglia,. This journal can be finished within an hour!

You will use your embossing blade and mat.  Convert your WPC file by using the ENGRAVING feature.  This will give you the lines for embossing.  I used Island for this one.  We have Engraving/Embossing tutorials on BK forum.  I used a force of 3 and 2 passes.  Vellum will rip if too much force is used.  Be sure your mat is sticky!
After removing from mat, take your white outline pen and just follow the embossing lines on THE BACK of motif.  After the white (or any color) dries, it's time for the rhinestones. I used a wand/iron and individually set mine. Add ribbon and stem.

Cut inside of journal pages out and attach between cover and back .  I used organza ribbon but you can use brads if not a thick book.  Sorry I can't locate final pictures......

PRINCESS CHALKBOARD AND WALL VINYL

This is something I made for my grand - daughter "Presley".  She is a 2 year old who loves to write but also wants to stay right next to her Mommy.  The vinyl chalkboard Princess Mirror is 3 feet in length. Perfect for her to stand or sit in her chair to write/draw.  Boss kut sells the vinyl and chalkboard vinyl. http://www.bosskut.com/. They also have Chalk Ink wet wipe markers that are fabulous!  Don't forget the rhinestones for her crown.

What Princess ever leaves her home without a mirror?  I made this 2 sided chalkboard  mirror for her to have when she is not at home.  I cut this using .20 chipboard and covered with my cardstock. The solid side of her mirror is made using BK glitter cardstock. My settings used for my Gazelle were: 3 force and 25 knife offset.  1 pass!!  In the handle of my mirror, I added 2 jumbo paper clips to give it some additional strength. I used 2 way adhesive tape to apply the clips.  Enjoy!

Potpourri / Gift Box

Need a fast gift idea?  This is a Lattice Box design by Terri Mouw that I love to make!  I fill these with Potpourri and set on a table.  I use a lot of essentials oils and this is perfect to refresh my potpourri without it touching something directly and leaving marks. Also good to put candles in or whatever you need

I always use heavyweight double sided cardstock.   You want double sided so you don't have to cover the inside.  I cut this on my Gazelle force 2 and 1 pass. Fold on the dotted lines and glue.  On this Holiday Box, I added  a magnet on the front, rhinestones and faux silver embossed corners. You can decorate this in so many different ways and have this project done within 30 minutes!
